1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms“) govern your use of theruralbusinessawards.co.uk (“this Website“), entry to the Rural Business Awards, the booking of tickets and tables, and any sponsorship or partnership agreement. The Rural Business Awards are owned and operated by Capital Business Media Ltd (“we“, “us“, “CBM“), 7 Bell Yard, London WC2A 2JR.
By entering the awards, booking a table or using the Website, you agree to these Terms.
2. Website use
You agree to use this Website only for lawful purposes and not in any way that infringes the rights of others or restricts their use of the Website.
All content on the Website — including text, images, logos and the Rural Business Awards brand — is the property of Capital Business Media Ltd or its licensors, and may not be copied, redistributed or used commercially without written permission.
3. Awards entries
- Entry to the Rural Business Awards is free in every category.
- Entries must be submitted by the published deadline. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organisers.
- You must be authorised to submit an entry on behalf of the business or individual you nominate.
- Entries must be truthful, accurate and verifiable. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that is materially misleading.
- By entering, you grant CBM the right to use your entry, business name and (where you’re shortlisted) supporting material for the purposes of judging, awards-night production and editorial coverage across Capital Business Media titles. You retain ownership of your underlying material.
- Judging decisions are final. We do not enter into correspondence on judging outcomes.
4. Bookings, tickets and tables
- All bookings are made with Capital Business Media Ltd / CBM Events. A booking is confirmed only on receipt of payment (or signed purchase order).
- Prices are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the prevailing rate.
- Cancellation: bookings cancelled more than 90 days before the event receive a full refund less an administrative charge. Bookings cancelled between 90 and 30 days before receive a 50% refund. Bookings cancelled within 30 days are non-refundable. Names on a table may be substituted at any time up to seven days before the event.
- We reserve the right to move guests between tables to optimise the room.
5. Sponsorship
- Sponsorship agreements are governed by the signed letter of engagement between Capital Business Media Ltd and the sponsor, which takes precedence over these Terms in case of conflict.
- Sponsors do not have any influence over judging outcomes.
6. Force majeure
If the event cannot proceed in whole or in part due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to pandemic, civil unrest, venue failure or extreme weather), we will work in good faith with bookers and sponsors to reschedule or to apply payments to a future edition. Our total liability is limited in any case to amounts paid to us for that booking or sponsorship.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms, your entry, your booking or your sponsorship is limited to the amounts paid to us in connection with the relevant matter. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
