Enter This Category All Categories

This award recognises rural businesses and organisations that are driving positive environmental and social impact, strengthening communities, supporting livelihoods and creating a more sustainable future for rural Britain.

“How businesses improve rural life” – not just land.

What judges are looking for

  • Measurable community impact – people supported, partnerships built, services delivered.
  • Environmental contribution – quantified where possible, beyond the marketing.
  • Workforce and supply chain – local employment, fair contracting, rural skills.
  • Programmes that wouldn’t exist without you – initiatives funded, founded or hosted by the business.
  • Long-term commitment – this isn’t a one-off CSR moment.

Who should enter

Rural businesses of any size whose impact extends meaningfully into the communities and landscapes around them. Community enterprises and social ventures also welcome.

Entry Tips

  • Use specific figures — revenue, %, headcount, acreage, customers served.
  • Back claims with evidence: coverage, quotes, accreditations, photos.
